Welcome! I am a freelance translator, editor, writer and educator specializing in the arts, culture and contemporary literature, with 25 years of experience in publishing and media.
I translate from French and Italian into English, and research, write, copy-edit and proofread in English for creative and corporate clients. I also volunteer at Vancouver Art Gallery as a docent/arts educator on the schools and education program. My academic background is in languages, literature, art history and translation studies (Universities of Oxford, London and Westminster). In 2011 I became a member of the British Society of Authors (Translators Association).
Since turning freelance in 2005 I have translated and edited 24 book titles and exhibition catalogues for publishers including Assouline, Thames & Hudson, Taschen, Rizzoli, Skira, Contrasto Books, Scala, Charta Art Books, Gallimard and Golion, along with a steady stream of shorter print and web-based projects ranging from bilingual arts and lifestyle magazines to web content, e-newsletters, marketing communications, press kits, brochures & more.
I work for international book & magazine publishers, arts & cultural institutions, media & translation agencies, corporate clients and non-profit organisations in the following subject areas:
